For many in the world, it is time to enter new classrooms and embrace a new adventure in a fresh new school year. One of the most alarming issues in Nepal is that school is not compulsory, therefore leaving most children to fend for themselves throughout the day. Pictured above are some of the children in ‘The Blessing Village’, only a few of whom are able to attend school. Though I am prayerful that this cultural phenomenon will fade into history, supporting even one young person in education is a major victory.

I have had many dreams in the space of education in Nepal, yet unless the Lord builds the house…. right? He leads me, and I follow. This is how I came to the wonderful realisation one day that He was inviting BraveEverywhere to initiate a new mission for two very special people. Hopefully, this will be the first of many such missions.

First, Kazul. One day she and Anjali and myself were having our traditional peach tea when we discovered that she had a dream of going to university in India, where she is from. This happened to match one of the dreams that I had been praying about since the moment that I met her. I imagined the way education would radically alter her current trajectory, living in ‘The Blessing Village’ and being the sole supporter of 8 plus people. Envisioning her in my heart flourishing with a degree, a proper career, and doing well, made my heart burst with hope.

Anjali and I immediately began to pray and discuss various ideas for how to help her achieve her goal. One thing led to another, and BraveEverywhere has officially sponsored her first year of university, where she will study to be a nurse! She is beyond excited for this opportunity, and I know that she will soar in this amazing opportunity. I am so proud of her.

Second, Anjali. As I was blessed to spend time with her, and pray for all that God had for her future as well, it became clear to me and to her that He had big plans for her as well. Feeling drawn to India in her heart over and over, she wondered what God was up to, until she came to the conclusion that He was preparing her heart for missions. I am elated to share that we were also able to sponsor her to go to serve in a mission arm of Youth with a Mission called Fire and Fragrance that many of you will know about. There she will be trained in the specific ways to love on the people of India while learning to be a full time missionary. She is ready to go wherever God will send her. I am also so proud of her.

It has been an exciting whirlwind to help them take such a positive step forward in their lives. As Kazul grows in her new faith, she is learning how she must rely on Him to meet all of her needs, and indeed He will. Anjali, though more seasoned in the faith, is being stretched to believe that God will support her mission to serve the world as a missionary.

Now in just a few short days, both of these beautiful daughters will step into a whole new world. I know you will join me in praying for them each and every day.

Nurses, missionaries, and education oh my!
